Interior Windshield Pillar Cover
Are the pillar covers on a 1970 442 Holiday coupe supposed to have a rubber molding on one side? Mine did not have them but I have a set that came with some other misc. parts that I bought that do have them. Looks like it was glued on.

If you're referring to the interior A-pillar covers....they are just painted metal. No rubber strips, etc used on them. No rubber, etc covering on them either....just painted.
Someone may have glued something on your extra set at some point when they were "chasing" rattles or mystery noises in the car. They're probably still wondering what the hell caused it

That makes two of us Joe.....sorry Rick, you've been outvoted
As I mentioned before, someone added those. Probably had wind noise problems at the leading edge of the door glasses and came up with the "solution" you see.
Remove them and save them for posperity.....hang them on the garage wall and make up a some unique story to tell about them when friends come over to view the car and after a couple beers.

Thanks Pattton and Joe for making 2017 a prosperous year.

Hey did you get my text about the parts I'm in search of? I think some of that stuff was discussed before but I know your inventory is ever changing.

Well - then these may be a "one year only" part AND since they are rarely seen that means there MAY BE a whole slew of super rare '72 W30s out there that NEED THESE PARTS.
Hey, if they were used/installed at the factory (or even as a dealer-added/GM recommended "fix") then they ARE likely very rare and MAYBE very desirable.
In the words of Mike Richards...."never say never" when it comes to these cars.
So.....maybe you did hit the lottery if you find the one crazed '72 person that HAS TO HAVE THESE
Whatever you do don't toss them out now.
