How to Lower Door Glass

So I can install new window scrapers. I can't seem to locate the adjustment which allows the glass to go lower so I can unscrew the scrapers. I have the Fisher body manual for my 69 442, but I can't find the procedure. Thanks in advance....Mike

You'll have to pull the door panel and take the lower window stops loose or possibly out to get it low enough to do it.

There aren't any lower stops....the rear quarter windows have them, and I was able to easily lower and replace the scrapers. The videos on youtube (chevelle) show lower stops on the doors, but not on the 69 Cutlass. I'd really really prefer to not take out the glass...haha.

The glass channel bottoms out on the lower rubber bumper in the middle of the door. It is a bitch to get out. You might get clearance if you remove the screws that hold the glass channel to the rollers and let the glass drop a bit.. Maybe take three bolts out of the regulator and rotate the regulator to give space. Try something.

Yeah, looks like I'll just have to loosen everything and hope I can get it realigned afterward....I can already feel my skinned knuckles and the sheet metal slashes on my fingers.

There’s usually a L shaped stop with a rubber bumper on, remove it, usually 1 bolt. Look in your Fisher Body manual, If your doing stuff like this, the big GM manual may help to.
