Floor pans...

OK so this past weekend I got the nerve to pull my seats and carpet up to see what shape my floor pan was in!Since I just did the heater core which was bypassed when i bought the car I was scared!To my surprise the floor pans were in great shape!Minus a little rusting under the back seat area nothing por15 can handle!Once i get the floor prepped and my carpet comes in what should i use Dyna mat or just plain jute?I'll try to post more pics later today. oh leave your input on which options i have and Thanks in advance guys!

When I bought replacement carpeting for my car last spring, it came with jute padding in the footwell areas as a mildew-resistance feature, and I paid extra (about $50 on a $130 carpet for a total of about $180) to get their "mass backing" option, which is something many of the carpet vendors offered. It's a 1/8" think latex backing that "provides additional sound and heat insulation." This was in addition to the standard 1/16" standard poly backing. I just laid this down on the floor with no additional layers of insulation or anything underneath, and it has worked fine so far for the six months it's been in the car.

I bought mine here:

He's got free shipping, which can be a significant savings.

Never mind the overpriced DynaMat. Check out industrial suppliers for sound damping materials, such as MSC here. They've got sound and heat damping stuff with adhesive backing in rolls for a lot less money. Just cut and paste.

In the last pic what color is this interior?

my trim tag/data plate reads :

ST 72-33687 Z 01868 (HUGE STAMP 3) BDY
TR 954 A52 53 11
11B 012906 580092

3= Oldsmobile
36 = Cutlass S
87= 2 door hard top
Z= Freemont California
954= Covert Gold
A 52 bench seat
53= Saturn gold
11= Cameo White
11B = November second week

Which shown here it's supposed to be covert gold but looks like light or dark saddle to me!
