Door Panel Trim - Silver Strip re-do

I have a 1970 442 and am currently restoring my original Door Panels. I have re-dyed the Door Panels and am now working to "restore" the thin Silver Strips that run on the face of the Door Panels...Like many of them, mine are flaked off, or missing the "chrome look" on the finish and I want to do my best to "re-do" them with either a good, strong adhesive, very thin Foil Tape, or a long-lasting and durable Paint. I've also thought about using a Chrome Paint Pen, but don't want to get into anything that might either "bleed onto my Panels over time" or will easily "chip off."

Does anyone have any suggestions on which product to use...Foil Tape or Paint? and also the best way to prep the Strips an apply the new Chrome type Paint Coating or Foil Tape to them?
Thanks in advance.
