Cutlass rubber molding question

Cutlass rubber molding question
I have a 73 Cutlass Supreme 2dr coupe and the rubber gasket around the drivers and passenger side windows has some splits and cracks..it will let just a bit of water in when I rinse it off....I'd like to replace it but I've heard that replacement weather strip is often hard, difficult to install and does not last...are there grades or manufacturers that are better and any that are better for the DIY installation...The lower door gasket and seals around the door and along the floor are fine...it's only the ones over the tops of the windows...
The car is the one in my avitar that can be enlarged by tapping on the pic.
Many Thanks

The 3 companies that come to mind are Steele Rubber products, Metro Moulded Parts, and Softseal. If you are planning on painting your car in the future, I would wait until after paint to install new parts.

Thanks for that...I had heard that replacement rubber was often too hard to allow the doors to close easilly and also that being hard it often didn't really seal well..any issues with any of that? Also did you install it yourself and if so was it simple or difficult? (scale of 1-10, 1 being easiest)..many thanks.
