Car is a 72 …
I can’t find anywhere in my assembly manual on how this harness should correctly get plugged in. The only easy part for me was the actual map light closest to the glove box. I’m also having trouble doing the math as there’s not enough 194 bulbs sockets to go into both sides of the under dash lights w/ blue lens’ that each take 2 194 connections …
Also, if you could tell me the bulb size for the headlights “lights” bezel and the ashtray that would be great as well
Bumping up, hoping someone has an image or a schematic for how this harness gets wired up and the bulb size for the 2 prong bulb as well as the ash tray and “lights” escutcheon
You should be able to follow the 1972 CSM color wiring diagram to match these up rather easily. I'll identify a couple...You have the 1972 CSM, right? If not, there's a link in the electrical forum section; you can begin using the 1971 wiring diagram in the electrical forum, as well.
Brian - I did not mention this, regarding the courtesy lights on the metal shelf under the dashboard. You'll notice at each outboard end of that metal shelf, there is an existing hole. It's shape perfectly accommodates the plug-in for each of the courtesy lamps (facing downward). When hooking up your dash wiring, be mindful of the grounding wire to the dash panel lighting cluster (should see it easily in the PIM [Assembly Manual]). Ensure you have a dedicated ground wire to the instrument dash panel cluster. I think the remaining schematic of your wiring harness colors follows the same wiring colors as depicted in your wiring harness (from what I see in your images at any rate). Cigar lighter should be a round circular metal plug. Can't recall from your image - I think you have one wiring loom of the wiring harness illustrated in your image, is there another for the passenger side? Anyways, if you get stuck - ask. Pictures are helpful (always). BTW, the wiring harness (loom) lays, more or less, on top of the metal shelf as the loom extends to the passenger side (with feeds to the various devices e.g. radio, cig. lighter, map light, glove box, courtesy lamp, door switch, etc.).

Norm - here is my confusion though with this...I only have 3 x 194 Bulb sockets on this harness, but there are 4 total locations for the 194 bulbs to go (2 on each side for the map lights with the blue filter)...so where is the 4th coming from ? Is it a free pigtail on another par of the harness ?
Also do you have the bulb size for the 2 prong and the ash try bulb ?
Also, I "think" the one orange wire I labeled "always hot" is most likely the clock wire feed (can't recall). If you have no clock, this wire is not used (obviously).

Argh. I installed a clock into my '71 CS convertible last year and for some strange reason (do not hold me accountable for memory lapse), I "think" I recall one (the far driver's side) 194 bulb socket came from a separate feed. You may need to investigate further. I think (just saw your newest image) those three 194 sockets you have installed into the holes should all be moved over one towards the passenger side. Again, I "think" I recall a separate 194 socket from a different wiring loom (harness?) feed which comes up near the headlamp switch - again, don't hold me to that (going from memory).

Perfect - thanks a ton !!
** Also found the location for the downward facing bulb in the metal part of the dash
OK One last thing and I really have to run. The wiring harness in your image is only one piece of the total wiring. But, my point is this - with the steering column out of the way (you're looking at a free-standing dash), note the wires will ride "above" the steering column (in the area of the instrument cluster) when you eventually install the dash with the wiring - just keep that in mind when routing your wires.
