Hey guys:
I reinstalled my restored convertible top frame this weekend and it looks like the front header bow doesn't extended far enough over the windshield. I don't have the hydraulic pump or the ram cylinders installed, just moving it up and down by hand. Will the ram cylinders push the front header bow further forward? As it looks right now I'm about 1 inch too far back, such that the weatherstrip that compresses to the top of the windshield is too far back to actually to any good. Anyone have some tips or pointers for a novice? This is my first time restoring a convertible frame and fitting it to the car. Thanks in advance for the help.
Rodney
The top linkage has adjustments to properly align the header bow on the windshield frame, but you do need to have all the actuators in place before adjusting. The Fisher Body Manual provides the adjustment proceedures in Chapter 12.
