OK, now I'm really confused, I've had the console apart several times, repairing it and making it fit, nowhere did I see where the plastic things go ! SO........ where did they come from ?????????/

A photo of what you're talking about might be helpful to the rest of us.

Do they have a threaded hole in the round part? I'll look this weekend to see if I can find anything like that. John

yes, and I think there was a screw comming thru from something into this end of the plastic. I got this picture in my head of the square end fitting a square receessed hole.......

I have a 69 442 automatic console that is currently apart in the basement and it doesn't have parts that look like the parts you show in the picture. Although I did find a quarter and a dime like that, along with a lot more coins when I removed the console!

Any chance these were bushings that fit between the console and a mounting bracket in the car?

I agree with 69442C, I looked over a console and didn't see a place for those. Now that I think about it... I believe there's a couple pieces like that inside a non-sport steering wheel, under the horn button. Could they be from there? John

2blu hit the nail on the head. Those plastic pieces fit into the horn plate for the standard steering wheel. I've enclosed a photo showing where it goes and I removed the other side to show the bottom of it. A screw goes into these from the back of the steering wheel.

There are springs under that horn plate too that go around the round portion of the plastic parts. So if you put the steering wheel together, you may have forgotten about those too. Check in the console storage bin.
