Hi, I'm new here so this might have been discussed. I have a 1976 Cutlass Supreme with a split bench front seat. If I can locate matching (white vinyl) buckets, is this a simple bolt in? Thanks.

It depends on where you get the buckets from. If they are from an identical model car then no problem. If they are from a different of similar model car then you might have to use spacers under some of the mounting corners for the buckets and they may not fit/mount well. Measuring ahead of time and looking under the floorpan of your car will help avoid problems. measure height from bottom of mounting (feet) on buckets to top of seat, then width of seat at widest point of side bolsters, and any other measurement that might be applicable. Another thing to consider is if the buckets are power operated or swivel-out type like on the '74-'76 models. I have done a swap-out three or four times, if you are careful and measure things ahead of time it isn't too hard.

btw, use good, new hardware and a sharp drill bit if you have to drill new holes, remember, measure and look before drilling! watch out for things like brake lines/fuel lines and e-brake cables.

good luck.
