Ok guys, my interior is THRASHED. Too many years of sitting and delinquent owners. What would be the cheapest way to redo EVERYTHING and make it look good. What companies, what kits, what have you come across? There is literally NOTHING in the interior that can be saved. and is Just Dashes the only company that will restore a dash? They are NOT cheap.

 

Any competent upholstery shop can handle it.

Drive it in. Tell them what you want. When they finish, drive it out.

So you would suggest not doing it myself if I don't have to?

I picked this car up to be a learning experience for me so I would like to do it myself, but I'm very interested in your suggestions, haha. Don't want to screw myself.

 

I have a 68 cutlass with a bucket seat pearl interior. I bought a big kit from either year One or Original Parts Group (don't remember which). It looks great. In addition to the kit, you will need to buy additional parts if your interior needs total replacement. Expect to spend nearly 2K just for parts. If you think $2K is cheap, then go to an upholstery shop and you'll be in the big leagues.
As far as doing this yourself, go for it. The interior is much easier than paint & body or motor work. It's a good stepping stone to bigger projects.

Jolly, I would suggest looking into interior kits from Year One or Kanter. You could easily rebuild your seats on a weekend if the weather was nice. Plus, that would be cheaper than having a shop do it for you. You can also put in new carpeting which is available from the above companies. Then you could leave the hard stuff like door panels and head liner for the pros (head liners are available as well though). I hope to do this with my car someday. I think it would be fun and a learning experience. If you are good with tools you won't have any problem with the seats and carpet.
