'87 Grey Interior Paint

Does anyone know of a good off the shelf, auto parts store, spray can paint that matches the dashboard grey for an '87 Cutlass 442?

I need to repaint my speaker grills. I took them out to clean them and the paint came off!

Thanks,

If I get a chance tomorrow, I will check for the number / name of the paint I used for my 85 Dash (should be the same as 87)..........

I decided to check for the paint info tonight, instead of waiting until tomorrow.........

The actual paint I used for my 85 was a SEM Vinyl Paint called "PRESIDIO" and the number is 15163.......

In my application I was very satisfied with the color match "BUT", I did my complete dash except for the speaker covers which were still in excellent condition..... it did not appear to be too light or too dark compared with the rest of the interior...... since you are only doing the speaker covers, I don't think you will have a major color variation, unless the 87 interior has a color shade variation from the 85..........

Thanks for the numbers CRUZN, I will give it a try. My other option was taking my daughter to the auto parts store and comparing the paint left on the speaker cover until she found one that matched (I'm a little color deficient ). She is not usually amused when I have her do that.

OK, for future use, the Presidio is not the correct color for '87. My speaker grilles are now lighter than the rest of the dash. My search will continue...

Sorry it didn't work out for you..... In as much as I did my dash quite a few years ago, it is possible the paint formula was changed to accommodate a wider range and later model vehicles..... If that was the case, you would think that SEM would have used a different paint name and item number...

I searched the SEM site for other "GRAY" paint options and found a color chart that might help choose a color........ Scroll down to "Product Description" and click on "Download Chip Card"....
