71 Cutlass Interior Panel Removal
Hello,
My rear window mechanism recently broke, can someone please tell me what tools I need to remove the rear interior panel and what the procedure is?
My car is a 71 Cutlass S.
Thanks in advance,
Pete

Pete,
The major steps are:
1) remove the rear seat bottom and back
2) remove the screws holding the armrest and remove the armrest.
3) remove the screws on the window mechanism access panel.
Tools:
no tools needed for the rear seat bottom, push down and back then up to un-clip the bottom from the car body
wrench needed to remove the 2 bolts at the bottom of the rear back rest, then lift up off the slots it is hanging in
#2 phillips screwdriver will remove the armrest and access panel screws.
Will likely need replacement body caulk to reseal the access panel.
Hope this helps, I am working on my quarter windows now and am painting the rusty access panel (for preservation) while I'm at it.
