65 cutlass conv. boot clips

65 cutlass conv. boot clips

Hey
Any one know how these clips work?
I purchsed a L shaped clip to attach a conv top boot to the pinchwell molding.
I have turned these clips every way but loose and cant get them to work
Help!!!!

Post a pic of what you have.The 65s are different than the later ones.BTW-are yours NOS,or has someone finally started making repops? I will get out my cover and try some pics for you. ---bil

Thanks for the solution. These are the same clips that I have. I tryed one in the position that you have shown and they just snap on. I had no idea that they attached to the top portion of the pinchwell molding I was concerned about scratches as the molding is brand new. Thanks very much.

Are yours new? If not, make sure the plastic coating is good,or you will scratch the stainless. Sometimes a little of that stuff they sell to make grippy handles for old tools works good on these. You will get small scratches anyway,even from new clips. ---bil PS-I have pictures of the rest of the top cover hardware,if needed.

Yes, they are new and the catalog states that they are coated

Which catalog!? When I redid my Olds,they didn't make them for 65,just the plastic ones for 66 and up.Thanks. ---bil

Installing clips on the boot

Thanks for the installation pictures. I purchased a new boot last year but did not use it because I did not have time to install the clips. I planned to install the clips this week. Since they are rivited on, I did not want to install the clips incorrectly. The clips from OPGI did not come with instructions. I looked all over the web and could not find instructions. Finally tech support at FUSICK sent me the attached diagram. Thankd your Fusick!
