You need to buy a CSM for the car. It shows all the details.

Yes the CSM is very helpful in many aspects, i agree its money well spent

to get you started there are 2 fasteners near the front of the console on the left and right sides, and you will need to remove the woodgrain and storage compartment interior to access at least a couple more fasteners that go into the floor

overall its an easy straight forward job

I didn't attempt to remove it yet. The reason I'm taking it out is to replace the stock shifter with a b&m ratchet one. Since I put the overdrive transmission in and the shift works mod on the stock one, it is really easy to skip gears when I get aggressive with the car. Especially the 1-2 shift. Anyway, the B&m one measure about the same so I'm hoping to install it and put back the original console.

What you need is one of these, but unfortunately they don't show one for a Cutlass shifter. I didn't search around to see if someone else makes a Cutlass version.

Yeah fun71... I've been poking around the internet and I couldn't find one for the Oldsmobile.Thomson Products makes the one your referring to. Looks like the Chevy boys have the advantage once again.
