1968-72 Convertible Roof Rail Seal Info

The car I'm working on is a 70 'vert A body, and the 6 piece roof rail seals do not fit to my satisfaction. Metro is what's on the car now, and I have another "new" old set of Metro's here. Recently, I bought several pieces of real GM NOS seals. One of the pieces is the front left piece over the driver's window. The problem with the Metro seals seems to be that particular piece (and possibly others ) are too short. The NOS GM seal is maybe 1/4" or more longer. Both sets of Metro I have are shorter than NOS. The set of Metro on my car, the front pieces, the small flap-like extension at the rear either has been, or is, cut off. Anyways...I'm not impressed with the Metros. I'm looking at the Fusick exclusive set that they claim they manufacture themselves. Any feedback on those as to fit? Anybody know who makes them? I only know of 3 manufacturers, Steele, Soffseal, Metro, and the Fusick seals. Any opinions of what company makes the best seals? Thanks!!!

Just put a set from Parts Place (via Amazon) on a 70 convertible. I believe they were Metro. They were identical looking to the originals and went on OK. The rubber didn't "feel" as quality as Steele stuff I've used before, but they fit. Especially for $149 with free shipping.

Thanks for the response. I'll look at them. I looked at the TPP seals on ebay, weirdly they sell 2 sets at different prices. Both sets have the same number. I'm really looking for seals with the thin flap extensions like original, particularly on the front piece. Like this, see the pieces on the outside of the pic? Those are the front pieces and there's a long flap in the front and and a short flap at the back. Some Metros have them and some don't. Fusick shows them in their pics, too.

I'm still investigating this. But, that's what GM originals looked like.

I have heard good reports about Precision weatherstripping, but I have not used any of their products yet.

Thanks, Precision would be my first choice. Unfortunately, they don't have anything for that ap. I can tell you their trunk weatherstrip is as good as anything you can buy. And...I've tried everything on the market including the second gen GM NOS (plastic filler, not string). Patton and I were just discussing this yesterday. I will update when I decide what I'm going to do.

Ok, so I got the seals from Fusick. They are clearly different than Metros, and clearly better...a lot better. No clue who makes them, but maybe Steele because I've never seen their product for this ap. They do have the small flap-like extensions on them like original GM seals. The rearmost piece, the piece at a 60 degree angle or whatever, the channel where the glass sits is deeper than Metro by at least an 1/8" or more. It is much closer to NOS depth, because I have NOS to compare. That's a real problem area with fitting the qtr glass. So it allows more leeway. The header strip is really nice, with metal reinforced ends. I haven't put them on yet. This convertible stuff is like a whole different world. Nobody really makes the right tops, cables, knuckles, etc. for them. There's good stuff out there, but nothing excellent.
