If you mean the "top can" the answer is Yes.

Call Bob Anderson in Tampa Florida 813-932-4611

The bottom of the air cleaner is just a 442 base with 5 holes drilled in it.

Here's the skinny

air cleaner base

Close you need a 69 442 air cleaner base.

The top can simpily slides down into the base. You will also need a lid for the air filter that is smaller than the base. The bad news is "correct ones" are tuff to find, the good news is many smaller aftermarket lids will work [although they won't be correct] so Don't take apart your air cleaner at shows.

But I recently learned here [Thanks to Wmachine] that all 69 air cleaner bases are not created equal.

Check this out to discover the gradations betwix a 69 442 and a regular air cleaner base.

Wow.

In 1981 I bought my whole 69 H/O for $2,000 (from a seller in beautiful downtown Burbank). It was missing the original intake, carb, air cleaner, and outside mirrors. Later in the mid-1980s, I found and bought a set of exactly those parts (correct intake, carb, air cleaner top, and outside mirrors) for $600 (also from a seller in SoCal). I always wondered if those were the original parts from my car.

I thought W-Tony was making the top parts. Then stopped?

I have one air cleaner base for such a project, the OS code 442 unit.

The intake is easy, I have 3 of them in the basement, almost made.

Hey Chris, the base for the H/O air cleaner is NOT the same as the 442.

Due to the PCV in the intake, the base had outlets for each valve cover and the originals did not have holes drilled in the bottom like the 70 and up bases did.

Ah, I see

I was going by post #2 info, which may be inaccurate:

"The bottom of the air cleaner is just a 442 base with 5 holes drilled in it.
