69 H/O Driveshaft
All automatics got the "concentric" shafts with the rubber insert. (AKA but not really a two piece). Easily put out of phase with a nasty automatic + dry rot.
All stick cars got the standard single-tube everyone's familiar with.
This statement applies to 68-72 Olds A-bodies

By 2-piece I was thinking of the concentric shaft design as opposed to two shafts in series. So I gather a concentric shaft is original to the 1968, 69, 72 H/O's. FStanley in your response you were referring to 2 shafts in series?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Thank you Luke. I've been contacting a number of people and it seems at some point, post 1968, there may have been a transition from the 2-piece concentric to 1-piece solid for the 442 TH400 vehicles. More homework to be done here.

that looks like a a 2 piece (concentric w 1 shaft inserted into the other and held by a rubber insulator) see the squarer transition near the back of the shaft the 1 piece shaft is all smooth transition like the first diameter change nearer the center of the shaft
