I guess I should take some pictures, huh? It needs paint but the interior is a 6+ which is 6 more than most of what we wind up with.
The door pins need to be replaced and the strange thing is there is no cotter type pin or retaining washer on the old ones. It appears they have wings. Has anybody ever seen this? Almost like somebody sliced off a sliver from the tip of the pin and bent them down.
And yes, the doors have been replaced. We were told that and it's easy to see since they are solid black.

Well, I'm not real clear on options. I thought it was the package.
Power everything and all works except cruise....so far
am/fm/cassette
tach and gas gauge not working
air needs a charge but does work
floor pans will need to be replaced eventually as will carpet
I guess the seats are leather?
power seats work fine
DG shifter works fine
a few paint chips/missing so a bit of surface rust. nothing rusted through
exhaust is great
under the hood is really really clean
new hoses/belts
I put in a new battery and alt (it worked but was rusty compared to everything lese under the hood.
new cooper rwl GTs
We need a paint job and new stripes. Everything is there and in decent shape. Of course, eventually it owuld be nice to re-chrome the bumpers and do the floor pans. So far I have bled the brakes, replaced a wheel cylinder and the battery and alt as mentioned.
A few things need to be figured out like the washer motor and tach. Also, I've had/driven a lot of these underpowered government regulated vehicles in my life and either I've gotten used to weedwhaker engines in modern cars or this one has been rebuilt to something closer to 1970. It feels like a LOT more than 160hp with a 2.73. Doesn't sound like a big cam but seems to be what my my rebuilt '79 corvette with aluminum heads, mild cam and sidepipes was like with a 3.55. That's been a long time though. It could be stock but I don't think so. Still has the q-jet.

No t-tops and while I loved them on my corvettes back IN the '70s and '80s I'm glad it doesn't have them. Everyone we've looked at from the '70s in recent years is, uh, hmmm, rust-challenged.

What do u mean the license plate filler is only on cali & hawaii cars? Mine is broken tho, need to find a usable one.
#17
Cali cars license plate frames are plastic not steel and have a 4 inch extension that folds down with the frame when fueling. The bumper filler is cut out for the extension,All others had a steel frame whith a 1pc. filler.

Ok, thx. Didnt know that! My license frame is good but filler is shot. Gonna be hard to find that! Dash is cracked from heat but otherwise I cant believe how good shape. Original paint, tho faded. Kinda like the old paint, patina look. any recommendations on dash?

Dash pad will work from 78 thru 88.There is differances in switches and woodgrains but the pads are the same.Good ones are hard to find but I got lucky first time around.I have a mint dash in my race cutlass but the windshield has to be pulled to get it out.If you don't find one after this race season it will be available
