Does anyone have a good picture/description of this arrangement? Correct H/O intake (405233) with the nipple sticking up next to the T-sat housing but the PO has something 'rigged' up that I don't think is correct. Seems to me a molded curved hose off the nipple and the valve horizontal would make more sense. Right now it has the valve straight up.

That would be correct, just like the 70-72 W-30 cars.

Thank you Joe! Now the million dollar question. Is this available as a reproduction or do you think I could cut the 90 degree section out of some moulded hose that is the correct diameter?

Check with Fusick, they sell a nice reproduction.

I looked there first and didn't see it. I'll look again. I found a perfect picture in the Oldsmobile Chassis Service manual.
