Looks Real Nice! It's raining cats and dogs here. Did you put the foam on the air inlet for the hood scoop or was it already on the car? If you did where did you get and how did you install it? I'm needing to get one for mine.

No the foam is attached to the top of air cleaner can with 3m adhesive...it was easuer to line up that way as opposed to glued on the hood. I might have another foam its not original but its 25 yrs old i'll look

Thanks for understanding what I was asking I found one but wasn't sure how to attach it to the AIR CLEANER CAN. I know what you mean about being the only Olds at a show. It happens to me 9 out of 10 times. Thanks for posting pics!

I never pin pointed it but I believe it was a frozen caliper or wheel cylinders, I replaced all 4 parts and front hoses with new ones but didnt take the old ones apart yet. The brakes are pretty good now, I now have a small oil leak from the either the front cover/oil pan and am also thinking about how to put 3.23 gears in my 3.91 carrier to make it more drivable and better than 7 mpg's....thanks for checking back

I will. Small world huh ? I grew up in West Haven. Laid down a ton of rubber in front of Chick's and all over Ocean Ave.

Your car is stellar. Do you bring it too the "show" on Thursday nights at Jimmie's?

nice... not much rubber to burn along there now the roads are trashed and west haven is broke I also think they prefer the roads that way to keep speeding down. I go to jimmies every WED nite it starts at 5 ends around 9:30 but its rare to see any olds, in the past 5 weeks there has only been a few olds that have showed up. Thanks for the compliment on my ride its a driver though not a show car...looks better in the pics, it needs paint and i am not looking forward to that cost

Main reason why I don't live there. High taxes for a city in decline.

That explains why no one is there on Thursday

but its rare to see any olds, in the past 5 weeks there has only been a few olds that have showed up.

I may go this Wednesday. It will have to be with my Skylark. My Olds' are far from road worthy at the moment.

A 69 Hurst is a gorgeous car in just about any condition IMO.

it needs paint and i am not looking forward to that cost
I hear ya. Scary expensive.

Route 66 Ride

May as well add to this thread, got my car out for a ride last week to the OCA Nats and took Route 66 down from Chicago to Springfield, it was fantastic!! You can take the 'old road' all the way, Illinois has it pretty well marked and alot of it runs along side of I-55. Went down with my buddy Angelo following in the 'Darth Vader' car and for the most part we were the only two cars on the road. Basicially there is a small town about every 10 miles and many attractions still around or restored to stop in, see the pic's below... If anyone is near or has the chance, do some research and take a cruise on it, it's a great time!!

A few more pic's from the RT 66 ride.....

The last pic is a shot of part of the old south bound road that is still existing in many parts, from what I understand, it was 2 lanes south and 2 north but now just one side is available as a single lane each way, some places you can drive your car onto it and take pic's

He's mentioned it to me also. My car isn't back from the shop yet, but it's close.Your Hurst and his W31 would make a great combo. My Buick won't fit the "motif".

Unless you like rain or suffocating heat. It's been one or the other.

I love it buddy keep driving it and look for a used overdrive for it also. I get techs and people looking over my ride also but i enjoy it period, not for admiration. I usually drive it to racing, hunting ,fishing, car shows but usually where i can keep a eye on it there are real haters out there that would love to foul our rides up.

Just an fyi... all of the 1969 H/O air cleaner 'top can' with flapper actuator were plated a grey phosphate in color, anything else has been changed along the way.
