Dual Gate shifter ****

I'm looking at a lot of '69 H/Os for sale I see some with a Black shifter **** and some with the Aluminum 'T' handle ('79 H/O too). Was the 'T' handle optional over the Black **** or did the early cars get the **** and later cars got the handle or is the 'T' handle incorrect altogether?

All of the cars got the black ball. Lots of people swapped in T-handles over the years, just like folks did on their Hurst 4-speed shifters (factory or aftermarket). They'd pick one up at the local speed shop and 30 seconds to swap them...

Where are you finding a lot of 69 H/O's for sale?

I've called on four in the last week and looked at one in person when I went home to Boston.

Wow! I tend to watch various places on line to see how many are out there, but I haven't run across that many recently. You must have good sources!

Cool. Hope you are successful. I wanted one for nearly 30 years before I got mine!

Yeah, this is on his 'bucket list'. He doesn't have the time to completely restore one but doesn't want to pay $100k for one either so it's hard trying to find a good cruise night shape one that he can improve as he enjoys it. With times as bad as they are they're starting to come up for sale now so we're patient for the right one.
