better late then never

I will start off by saying that I have pined for a 69 hurst olds for many years
When I was a kid I saw a hot rod mag classified add in the back with a 69 hurst olds for sale it had the large h/o sticker on the rear quarter panel i remember thinking what a cool car. A few years latter after I had a 65 gto I was one on side of the road I pulled in talked to the people and got the owners
number the d heads were cracked and he pulled the heads and there it sat . this was in 87 or 88 he never wanted to part with it I called him two times a year and we talked for a while he still has the car he got it running and on the first or second trip out it was t boned I tried to get others but was just not in the cards fast forward to yesterday and I took possession of my very own 1969 hurst olds It is very solid but has been parked since 86 i think he said. The motor needs a complete rebuild from what i can see the body is solid but paint is showing it age has 5 wheels dual gate and steal ram air pan Let the fun begin

Congrat's on your new ride. There are a number of HO owners on site and they will want to know everything about your 69. Jamsbo will be crowing that no only is there another 69 on the site it's an HO as well. I will hear about it for days. What a neat find, hope you got a good deal.

I'll do my best not to be jealous, but I can't guarantee it. It sounds like a dream come true. I would sure like to see it. I'm only 6 miles from Stillwater.

Well, congrats on the puchase, good to see it got to you safe and sound. Paint and striping information is readily available when you get to it. Did you get any original paperwork with it, build sheet, broadcast card, etc?

I haven't been to the Withrow bar in years. I had some rough nites in that place.
I'll give you a call for sure. Don't feel bad sending Betty down the road. Stop by any time!

Welcome new H/Owner.

Does Jamesbo have one of those HO's?

I heard they modified a 1958 Sears and Roebuck "Ben Hogan's Magic Hole Putt-O-Rama" putting practice machine housing to make those hood scoop molds?
Is that true??

That car hauler is wild? I don't know if I would have wanted my car on the rear trailer, or were there another one or two trailers behind that one?
I've seen those road trains in things on TV from down under, move out of the way or a load of sheeps will run you over like a snowplow in Canada.
With my luck the hitch would break, the trailer would roll off into a desert somewhere, and the truck would keep on going.
Next thing I would know the car would be in Tijuana slammed to the ground rolling on 12's with a La Cucaracha horn blaring and dingleballs hanging from the headliner.

Those cars look cool photographed in the snow, pun intended.

For sure! Congrats. Always good to see a great car in the hands of a true enthusiast; someones who really wants it. To keep.
Quite frankly, I'm tired of seeing cars bounced around by resellers who are just trying to make money.

Mine has the same scrapes, even after repaints. I've tried adjusting it a number of times a number of different ways and I think it's a bit better, but still happens...

Hows about taking the glove box door off and shaving the edge of the door a little so it won't rub?? '68s do that too sometimes

If you see a 1969 H/O with a perfect fitting glove box, it's a case for it being a reproduction .. yes, I've seen very few that fit well, sort of like the side view mirrors, they look cool but functionally are not worth a damn, impossible to adjust correctly.
