1969 H/O seat belts

I'm curious, was there an option for deluxe or standard seat belts for the 69 H/O? Standard being the black camera style or deluxe being the brushed silver finish. I've seen pictures with cars having both types, just wondering if both are correct.

If they could be ordered on a 442, there shouldn't be any reason you couldn't get it on an H/O.

On page 20 of the owners manual, it talks about the extra-cost deluxe seat belts and how to put them on. They had a locking retractor for front seat outboard passengers and the hair smaller, shiny buckles and tabs. I believe that was the only real difference. But I'm not a seat belt guru, so there's that.

I can't hardly read the options list, but it appears it is W39, Deluxe front/rear seat belts. $12.11 option on 442 with buckets.

Correct. The 69 H/O was just a 442 with a unique engine and trans package. Every other option available on the 442 was also available on the H/O. And you are correct, RPO W39 was the code for deluxe belts.

Am surprised we don't have more people advertising their cars as a "W" car because it has the W-39 option.

I thought the "deluxe" seat belts came standard on the H/O and 4-4-2 models and an option for the Cutlass and F85.

Well, I just looked at the original window sticker for my '68 4-4-2 convertible and it appears to me that the "A39 DELUXE SEAT LAP BELTS - FRONT AND REAR" were a $9.48 option which mine has). The window sticker also includes "Y67 DELUXE INTERIOR EQUIPMENT" as one of "THE FOLLOWING ITEMS, OPTIONS OR ACCESSORIES ON SOME OTHER MODELS, ARE STANDARD EQUIPMENT ON THIS MODEL VEHICLE". Since the deluxe seat belts are shown as a paid option on the window sticker, it would appear to me that "Y67 DELUXE INTERIOR EQUIPMENT" does not include deluxe seat belts.

Apparently A39 (convertible) and W39 (coupe) were the deluxe seat belt options. AFAIK, there were no automatic options on the H/O package as far as trim, etc., other than the replacing equipment or W46 mandatory changes to be an H/O, like M40 and G80, etc..

Apparently the deluxe belts were separate. In 1969, they had the deluxe interior equipment for Cutlass/F-85, but it was N/A with 442. I guess it already had deluxe interior equipment?

So because I am not as hip to 69 Hurst cars I want to ask.

Could you order your Hurst Olds with whatever's? I assume so. Then there were factory picked cars?

Who has the most documented 69 Hurst Olds out there?

Correct, for both 1968 and 69.

Also correct. The deluxe interior equipment (which was unrelated to the deluxe belts) was basically the deluxe armrests with the chrome plates behind them. That was standard equipment in the 442s.

That was only for the '68 H/O. All 69 H/Os were W46 cars, regardless of a/c or not.
