I hit a deer :(

With my 1993 cutlass supreme. Am going to get the car fixed in a few weeks. By the drivers side tire, behind the plastic there is a fist sized canister connected to a cable or hose. Anyone have an idea what this might be? It came off the mounting but is held in by cable(?) and the plastic is going all the way around it so I dont think it will fall off.

Thanks for any help someone can give me.

Its a Vapor Canister. Also called a carbon filter.

A friend of mine calls deer "suicidal quadripeds".

In my opinion, deer season should be open all year long.

I've hit one of those bastards with every car I've ever owned.... except the Toronado. *knock knock*
