1970 442 Temp Sending Unit ?

Working on my 70 442 W30 convertible (with Rally Pack Gauges) and have run into an issue.
-Temp sending unit (nos) has a nail head/button head on it
-New wiring harness from Lectric Limited has a spade style connector end on it.
a. Lectric claims there is no difference on the firewall forward engine harness between rally pack cars and non-rally pack cars
Which is correct or did I misplace an adapter from my original harness? I am trying to complete as factory correct restoration as possible.

Thanks!
-ben

Does the Lectric Limited terminal have a slot on one side of the plastic insulator? Factory terminal is designed this way so the same harness can be used on both gage and warning light cars.

Warning light, terminal goes on the sender's blade vertically. Gage, it goes on 90° from vertical and the slot allows it to fit on the sender's button.

Hopefully I haven't totally confused you. If the LL insulator does not have the slot, sounds like an assembler goofed.

What Glenn said. This connector fits both the blade terminal (straight on) and the "nail" terminal (at 90 deg to the terminal).

If you are wanting to be factory as built correct, you should have a 6402383 sending unit which is a spade connector, not the button or nail type. The button one was OE for later years, and then was retrofitted to service earlier models. Original harness for 70 do not have that cutout to go over the nail.

And having never owned a gage car earlier than 1972, I have learned something. 👍😺
