hi guys im asking a question for a local olds owner, will chevelle door handles work on a 72 cutlass, thank you

I don't know the answer to your question. But I did learn that Cutlass 2 door and 4 door have different ones. The difference is inside the door, where the pin pushes the paddle to release the door. If you've got a loose Cutlass one you might compare that part of the handle with the Chevelle one.

Only going by this. I am going to say no, they don't. as a parts vendor is not going repop 2 different parts if they don't have too.
Now this might be because of the outer shape is a little different, and would not be correct , but will function opening and closing.
but I do not know if that is the case or not..
I left a link to the cutlass handles below.

Year one handles for a 70-72 Chevelle part # DH43
Yearone handles for a 70-72 Cutlass part #DH52

The original GM part numbers don't match either .
I think the difference is in the contour of the door sheetmetal ;

They are different I just looked at one today. The pin and the angle of it when it is bolted to the door.
