Steering column ignition switch lockout

I just finished converting my 1969 442 from an automatic trans to a Tremec 6-speed. I found out that the original automatic shifter in "park" allowed the ignition key to be turned all the way to the "off" or "lock?" position and enabled key removal.

My key is now stuck in the tumbler as I have removed the automatic shift lever. Can I disable this lockout feature somehow or do I have to buy a complete new/used column?

Thanks

Update: Forgot to mention that the starter will not work. Nothing at all.....and the battery has a charge. I just learned that my starting issue is probably the neutral safety switch not being activated since the automatic shifter handle was removed.

Does anyone know how to bypass the neutral safety switch?

Thanks.
