Got my hands on a 1967 delta 88 coupe

Hello all, first post here but not new to car forums and im a seasoned tinkerer. Most of my experience is with late 80’s and 90’s stuff, so this oldsmobile is from an unfamiliar era to me. As you can see in the pictures, the car is mostly complete. It will need a rad, hoses, a couple fuel lines, and the carb is obviously aftermarket. Im sure I’ll run into other quirks as i dive into this but atleast i know where to start. Im not sure what motor it has, or how to decipher if the motor is even original. Maybe some of you gurus will recognize what it is. Regardless im stoked to get this old boat back on the road.

Congrats, welcome to the site. The car does not have any following in the aftermarket, so parts can be a bit of a challenge. Looks like both an aftermarket carb and HEI distributor have been added.

Welcome. Should be a 425. Post the # behind the water pump on top of the timing shelf, below the thermostat housing.

ahh so they eliminated the points? I wonder if it ever ran like that. This car looks like someone gave up on it

Hey thanks, body is decent. One little “crunch” in the front corner that you can see in the headlight bezle. I kinda like the wheels. They could use a little more offset but im looking very far into the future lol
