350 seems a lil crooked -gbody

Dropped the 350 rocket in my monte SS yesterday. Used the 307 frame pads and olds engine mounts. Bolted the frame pads in the same location they were on the cutlass frame but the engine seems cocked to the drivers side just a hair. Iike 1/4 to 1/2 inch. The trans mount has 3 holes and it doesnt want to bolt to the middle hole, only the side hole.

Is this normal? Did i do something wrong? Words of wisdom?

Double check the frame mount position. Both mounts are in good shape? I would loosen everything, including frame mounts and line up your trans mount first. It may take some shifting with bars to get it in straight.

Brackets are all correct. On the correct sides. The mounts easily came down over the brackets and bolts went in easy.

There is always the possibility that the frame is not 100% straight.

Can't really tell much of anything from those photos. If you really care about levelness, block the frame using a level across the frame rails to make sure the frame is completely parallel to the floor. Now put that level across the carb flange. Is the engine level or not?
