I have a power window conversion kit for my 69 Olds. I have never been happy with the window fit/seal, lots of wind noise. I have tried many times to improve the wind noise over the almost 30 years I have owned this car, without much success. While I know a car of this vintage will never be whisper quiet like a modern car, I’m guessing new car buyers in1969 wouldn’t have been pleased with the windows of my car.
I think I may have found a big part of my problem. All the window rollers have what I would consider excessive slop. I’m guessing that’s why I could never get the windows to fit against the recently replaced weatherstripping. The windows would never sit in the same place when closing the doors/windows. After almost 400k miles and 50 years, who would have thought?! 😏. Some of the rollers wil be replaced with the new regulators. Are others available in the aftermarket? I’d like to replace them while the car is torn apart.
This roller is located at the front lower corner of the drivers window.
