Anybody have good luck with Metro Molded parts weatherstrips/belt mldgs, etc... I used them a few years ago when I restored a Camaro and was not real pleased with them. Wrong shape, etc... If they are not the cat's meow, who has the Snakes and Sparklers(Good stuff) of these parts?

I used the Metro door and trunk seals for my car and I found them to be very good. However, the stupid plastic 'rivets' they provided withte door seals were so poorly made, i reused my old ones. Fit and finish of the rubber was top notched for my 72 ragtop... They can be seen in my photo site below...

I used the Repops window felts and the rear quarter outers had to be modified.

 

You might want to look into Steele Rubber selection. They seem to have it all, decent fit & finish, at least in my case working on a 57' 88. That being said, there a little proud of there stuff (kinda pricey)

 

Steele Rubber Products for sure! I have used them. Customer service is absolutely the best. They will work with you w/any problems, at their expense. Highly recommend them, their products, and their people.

 

You didn't say what year car you are working on. I find Steele fairly lacking in stuff for newer cars-they cater to the older ones. I have been very pleased with rubber from Metro and have not been happy with Soft Seal.

 

I have bought weatherstripping for around the doors and convertible top of my 69 Cutlass Convertible from Original Parts Group and have been happy with that installation. I just bought rear quarter window inside belt weather stripping from Restoration Specialties and Supply. It looks like very good quality and just like the worn out originals.

I also have a problem. The original is attached with staples that go through the metal backing of the belt weather strip and throught the metal of the inside quarter panel structure. after I remove the old belting how do I attach the new belt weather stripping to the quarter panels? I could clamp the belting to the quarter panel and drill through the old holes through the belting and insert the old staples and bend them back over. Is this how any of you did this repair?

 

Have you heard of Kanter auto products ?
