water pump / 2 groove pulley combinations

water pump / 2 groove pulley combinations
I have a 68 cutlass s that shreds the alternate belt.
The issue is that the alignment with the water pump pulley is way off.
Also, it has a incorrect 3 groove pulley on when I bought the car.
I have ordered 2 different 2 groove pulleys and neither of them line up the belts correctly.
How to I find out what water pump I have and what water pump pulley I need.
There was a post that stated that Olds used many different pump/pulley combinations.
Is that listed anywhere?

If your trying to keep it original there are reference pages that show various combinations with different options the car may have come with. I think members here can help you figure out what you need. What length of water pump do you have? Do you have AC? Do you have PS? John
