tire/rim question

so not an olds related question, but I'm not sure how to figure this out. I've got a 2007 HHR w/ two banged up rims. They're 16x6.5 stock steel rims, and my buddy's swapping out the 15x6 alloys on his malibu. The bolt pattern matches up, so that's not a problem, but I'd like to increase the tire x2" so I gain an inch over the one's I have on it now. I'm not sure what size tire to be looking for though, any ideas?

So basically what you are asking is, that you are planning on running the 15x6 wheels on the HHR, and need to figure out the correct diameter tire to buy? If so you can get that info from your local tire shop. The sales books give technical data on all tires as well as factory specs on the specific application. In this case the '07 HHR. Some one here might have specifics in there head, but likely that will be your best bet.

lol, so the specs I got from my buddy were wrong. I've got a 16x6.5 rim with 215/55/16 tires, and he's got a 16x7 rim with 225/60/16 tires, so less of a deal than I thought initially. I love the internet http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
