Super tuning/blueprinting olds "w" machines
Has anyone here seen this publication? It was given to me by a dear friend who passed away recently. His car was a beautiful '58 Chevy Impala but back in the late '60s he was a big Oldsmobile fan. He had a '68 4-4-2 holiday coupe and a '69 W-30 and that's how he came across this book. He knew he was sick when he talked with me one day and just handed this technical booklet for me to keep. It's for the 1969 model year "W" cars. I don't have any "W" cars but I still find this booklet interesting to read through. I just don't know if it was widely available or if I have one of a few copies.

The contents have been available in a few places for about 50 years. Its a wealth of basic information. I think the Heritage Center has it if you google 1970 Oldsmobile 442 info kit. Its a downloadable .pdf Maybe Joe P can provide a link.

I don't recall who put out the original booklet for the 68-69's. It may not have even been Oldsmobile. Its about 16-17 pages.
The "1970 Oldsmobile 442 info kit" that is downloadable from the GM Heritage Center has 20 pages of performance material starting on page 124 of the .pdf and includes information about modifying the TH400 and it covers 1970 engines. The AMA registered section provides a ton of information such as material for the connecting rods. Its 339 pages (36.6MB download).
