I am out of ideas. On my 64 cutlass I am trying to install my steering wheel but I can not get it installed without an ugly gap between it and to column.
Ive read the body assembly manual and I must be missing something. I have a new selector switch and horn clock spring. The nut bottoms out on the splined part of the shaft,


This is a different wheel than came on the car but it is the same style and Im nearly positive the turn signal switch looks like the original one.

For now I just put a lighter spring in it and everything seems fine.
