Silver Paint Match for 1972 442 Grilles

Silver Paint Match for 1972 442 Grilles

What silver paint would match the silver used on the 1972 442 grilles? Ideally something you can buy in a rattle can.

Also, is the black portion on the grilles considered a "flat black" or a "matte black" ?

take a look at Eastwood's Argent Silver. I used for other matches. It maybe close.

Krylon 1403 dull metallic silver. It’s a perfect match and I was able to find it locally.

I also used the Krylon on 71 taillights, but could not recall the full name of the shade3. It was an excellent match and pretty inexpensive !

It seems to be more of a matte that a flat, curious on the thoughts of others?

It’s actually Krylol dull aluminum #1403. It is a perfect match. I’ve used it a number of times. If I remember correctly, Fusick recommended it to my years ago.

It’s krylon 1403. They changed the name and the label but the color is the same. I just used it recently with the new label it it is still a perfect match.

I’m pretty sure it should match 69 also but not 100%. I’ve never owned a 69. I know it matches 70-72 grills, headlight surrounds, and taillight trim.
