Silver Paint Match for 1972 442 Grilles

What silver paint would match the silver used on the 1972 442 grilles? Ideally something you can buy in a rattle can.

Also, is the black portion on the grilles considered a "flat black" or a "matte black" ?

take a look at Eastwood's Argent Silver. I used for other matches. It maybe close.

Krylon 1403 dull metallic silver. It’s a perfect match and I was able to find it locally.

I also used the Krylon on 71 taillights, but could not recall the full name of the shade3. It was an excellent match and pretty inexpensive !

Thanks for the info!

Is the black portion on the grille a flat or matte finish paint?

It’s actually Krylol dull aluminum #1403. It is a perfect match. I’ve used it a number of times. If I remember correctly, Fusick recommended it to my years ago.

It’s krylon 1403. They changed the name and the label but the color is the same. I just used it recently with the new label it it is still a perfect match.

would that color be the same for a 1969 442 grill?

I’m pretty sure it should match 69 also but not 100%. I’ve never owned a 69. I know it matches 70-72 grills, headlight surrounds, and taillight trim.
