short console ?

short console ?
I just bought a used shifter and console for my '67 Cutlass S convert. It is only about 2' long. Is this correct ? seams like an awful big space between it and the firewall !... PS, it's an automatic, if that makes any difference

Sounds like the correct console for a '67 -'69 Cutlass/442
They are quite small or short compared to the '70-'72 consoles. This is half of the reason for me putting the '70 console in my '69.
My Dual gate is the other half of the reason. Though I did just recently see a real nice install of a dual gate into the console you speak of. Wasn't correct but sure did look to be.
