Screws and clips for wiring harnesses

So I'm not really OCD about originality but I have spent so much time under my dash lately I'd like to know if there are any places where we can get the exact fasteners for our cars. I know most generic #8/#10 screws 1/2' to 5/8" long with1/4" or 11/32" head will work in most places. Just for fun I listed the majority of the screws found in the documentation I have. Anyone have a link to direct replacements for some of these? I have plenty of usable new replacements but would be nice to have a reference of where to get replacemnts or the exact size that you can use (e.g.#8-32 x 1/2", #10-24x1/2" etc.).

#9422046 and #9421314 are the majority of screws used on the dash and for harness

9428054 firewall
9422404 firewall regulator
9422561 firewall (J-clip screw)
9428036 Firewall - self drilling
9423204 firewall relay assembly - self drilling

9419327 console to console/ AC housing to ducts
9419791 LH/RH AC vent outlet to adapter
9419400 console bracket to floor
9421193 console to bracket
9424817 console to rear bracket
9422207 console shifter/ AC valance to instrument panel
9420610 console floor assembly to console
9414756 console shifter bezel assembly
9419305 console harness assembly clamp

9422046 dashboard - stereo adapter/gauges/windshield wiper switch/AC outlets
9421314 instrument control panel to dash pad / strap for glove box striker
9420425 control panel switches (cruise, top, tailgate window)
9416327 map light assembly
9431842 glove box striker
9419662 gauge trim upper/lower screws
9423298 8-track assembly to brace

Clips
581084 dash harness clip (white plastic)
406726 dash harness clip (self adhesive?)
388488 console harness clip
7599937 firewall harness clip (sometimes called J-clip) Tachometer cable driver side
7770862 Tachometer cable clip passenger side 4400 only (might be a J-clip - is on my car but has a different number in assembly manual)
4553268 clip for rear speaker on AC duct (self adhesive?)

Good to see your post Steven! I hadn't seen you around in a while. At our age that can be a bad thing! John

Steven, AMK used to have a GM part number cross reference in their catalogs, but I don't think it shows up in their on-line catalog.

Yep, I'm still kicking - just slower than I used to :-), you know—children, work, minor health issues, house chores, other hobbies etc. I am still working on issues the body shop screwed up 15 years ago. I'm down to a small punch list but about time I finish those the car will be ready for another paint job - gets frustrating. I promised myself I'd have this dash board completed for this summer - close but not done yet. I replaced the dash-pad finally after the mint used one has been sitting on the shelf for 14 years. Now that I finally got around to that I see they actually sell replacements. I still have your fenders I will install next time the car gets touched up or repainted - figure I might as well try to enjoy the car first.

I was going to reinstall the 8-track player, for the life of me I can't find it. I rebuilt it 18 years ago and put it away somewhere, UGH. Plenty of other odds and ends to do as well. Heck, my tires show no wear at all, yet are 12 years old, so I am going to replace them for safety's sake. Unbelievable how fast time goes. I enjoy this car every time I take it out but don't do it enough. Need to get the AC working again too. Sometimes I think I'm nuts for not selling it, crazy as I never looked at it as an investment but it has increased in value over 30 years probably more than anything I've ever done. I just know I'd regret it the minute I sold it.

Thanks to you and many others on this forum for all the guidance and help over the years.

Thanks, I thought there was someone who had that. Maybe I have that catalogue along with all my printed manuals - I'll take a look, if not I'll do some research. Thanks.

well clearly AMK has any screw you would need. Very few part numbers match exactly and nd many have duplicate part numbers. I am not near my car so can't use them as a source to match the screws I think they would match but I did find a few exact matches. Oldsmobile seems to use 941, 942 and 943**** for their screw numbers. I would think GM would have used the same part numbers across the board but what do I know. These are what I found, interestingly 4 of the 5 exact matches are specific to the console.

B is the AMK part number

9428054 firewall Looks the same but different number (9423354) B-11069
9422404 firewall regulator. B-12094
9419327 console to console/ AC housing to ducts B-12152
9419400 console bracket to floor. B-12093
9420610 console floor assembly to console B-11113
9419305 console harness assembly clamp. B-11082
