Paint removal from plastic

What is the best way from your experiences, to remove paint from plastic pcs like grills or interior pcs? An example would be a set of 70-72 grills painted black. I know of a lot of chemicals and strippers but dont want to melt the plastic or use a chemical that may be too harsh. Baking soda blast may be an option also? Sanding can't get in all the nooks and crannies.

I would be hesitant to use chemicals of any kind. As scrappie mentioned, chemicals can be too harsh and deteriorate plastic. IMHO, blasting is your best bet. Plus that preps the surface for painting.

Try oven cleaner on a corner, it usually works.

Depends a lot on if the black grill was painted with a paint with a hardener in it to began with. Test a small area that doesn't show with lacquer thinner. If it dissolves the black and doesn't make the base plastic soft or sticky it should work. Graffiti remover is usually a safe option also....Tedd

Whichever it is, get it off and rinse fast.
