What is the paint code to take to the paint supplier for this color?

Code 51 in PPG products is 2094. But check to make sure this number is available in the type of paint you want such as a base coat or a single stage urethane etc if you are using PPG products.

I'm curious as to where you can buy lacquer in quantity anymore.

 

I have been researching lacquer for my 67 project. PPG is available from many paint shops for 700 a gallon. TCP global has generic for 229 a gallon as well as PPG for 800 a gallon. Duplicolor is available in ready to spray quarts from Autozone etc but only in a few colors...

 

X2. The paint suppliers in my area no longer sell lacquer due to EPA issues and the EPA has forced another change where all base systems will be required to be water born as of 2013. Clears will not change.

 

Foiled again, my friendly neighborhood paint guy can still get me lacquer in any color I want, as long as it's black...channeling Henry Ford.

He referred me to a larger paint supplier that still markets lacquer "last he heard", fingers are crossed.

I can buy as much PPG Duracryl Lacquer as I want...for $380 a gallon. I went with a quart for touchup and my trunk lid with spoiler.

From a local retail supplier? Here in Northern VA, pain suppliers cannot sell lacquer in quantity.

 

Yep, a chain in Florida, has 8 locations, they mix it at only one.

 

 

 

Maybe I can whistle a carrier tone to this guy's dialup aol.
