That looks to be a 70 am/fm stereo. The 1970 models had another piece which was an amp I believe located near it under the dash. The 71-72 models were one piece. It seems from your pictures you have a 1970. I believe the black plug end goes to the amp. If you still have the car, the amp is probably still in it. The 70-72 look identical once installed.

The amp is slightly smaller but not by much.An assembly manual might show them.

An AM/FM stereo for a Cutlass is 03AFM1 or 03AFM2; the BFM is for a full sized Olds.

Except... the face shown in the photos in the first post is for a cutlass not a full size. Here is what a full size face looks like. Notice the squared corners on the bezel, different slider, and completely different tuner face. If you look carefully at the lable in the photos, it looks like there may have been multiple lables put together and glued on so this could explain the model number.

Here is another view of what the cutlass face looks like. This is my 71-72 one piece stereo unit.

Also, here is a photo of a 70 two piece unit. This shows a good size comparison between the amp and radio.

My 68 Toronado has a 2 piece stereo unit. When I had it out I remember seeing labels on the amp and stereo that said they were a matched pair and should only be used with eachother. Not sure what will happen if you add a different amp to your radio without having it gone through by a radio repair shop. Here is a link to a 70 stereo unit on ebay. it has no bids at $299 and ends tomorrow so it may be worth a gamble.

You can see the same message on the lables on those units as well "THIS IS PART OF A MATCHED UNIT. KEEP TOGETHER."

If you are able to find a cheap working AM radio, you can add a 1/8" audio jack input. Here is a link to a thread I recently created on how to do that.

Are you sure it's not in there? It's mounted above the glove box and is really packed in there. You can always swap the radio you have for a '71-'72 model and no one would be the wiser in most cases.

if you like the radio for its visual originality just look into having it converted to modern stereo guts - a modern stereo conversion will replace all the original electronics with current audio circuitry which provides stereo output and options like bluetooth, external amp and/or other component plug-in capabilities. Many vendors perform this upgrade and your radio retains its original look along with the button/dial functions.

And you no longer need the accessory amp that came with the original radio.

The radio you have is a '70 A body radio, the heat sink is on the left side (as you're looking at it from the front of the radio). B body radios in '70 had the heat sink on the other side and the fins were longer. And as mentioned above, you're missing the multiplex /amp box. Yes they should be kept together but others will generally work fine, as long its from a same style radio. What I mean is that Delco made these boxes for all the divisions, but some had different pinouts on the connector.
