NOS/Reproduction V belts for 350's
NOS/Reproduction V belts for 350's
Hi,
I'm doing a frame off restoration on my 72 Cutlass Supreme. I'm doing this car as correct as I can. So I am wondering if anyone else has found a source for NOS or reproduction V belts. I see that there are 455 options out there but can't find anything for 350's. I would do NOS if I could find them but my concern also is 40 year old rubber. Anyone have some insight on this topic?

I'm not quite sure what you're after here. If there's anything that's a wear part on a car, it's a fan belt. You certainly don't want NOS as anything 40+ years old will be dried and cracked.
What do you mean by "reproduction" v-belts, anyway? Aren't the belts you can buy right now at any auto parts store v-belts (if they're not serpentine belts)? No one's "reproducing" them. They're just making them. Like they have for the last 100 years, or whatever.
I went to both the autozone and rockauto websites just now and typed in 1972 Cutlass with a 350 engine, and I find v-belts galore. Several brands, too. What exactly can't you find?
I replaced all the belts on my '73 Custom Cruiser (with a 455) earlier this year. I bought the three belts at Autozone. No trouble getting them or using them. They're on the car right now and work fine.

Yes, Sorry for the confusion I am looking for belts that have the GM markings on them. I'm not as particular for them to be date coded just GM looking parts. Sorry I should have been more specific. I have searched online for hours and only coming up with belts for the big blocks that are reproduced with the look I'm wanting. Yes I'm **** to some degree but I like my cars to be as close to factory as when they were new. Just my take on how a show car should look.
