Neutral lock out switch adjustment.

After a year I am finally getting my 55 Super 88 hardtop back together and drivable again but am having trouble getting the back up lights to work. The car was not running when I put them back on but now that it is the back up lights do not come on in reverse. I pulled the lights off of the car and went through them and installed new bulbs and gaskets and bench tested them both and checked the ground. I looked in my shop manual and there is no mention of adjusting the neutral lockout/backup light switch or diagram or photos of the switch so I am in the dark about testing the switch and adjusting it. Any of you 55 Olds guys have some info on this issue? I am down to getting all of the lights working before pulling it out of the garage for the spring. Thanks in advance for your help. Curt
