Mtotor mount heat shield: 69 442

Did 1969 442 have heat shield on both motor mounts ?

If originally only had one shield would it have been on driver or pass side?

Thanks,
Adrian

Replacing motor mounts

I'm trying to replace motor mounts in my 69 Cutlass convertible...can't seem to get engine high enough to clear. Will I need to remove exhaust pipes? Nervous about jacking up engine on harmonic balancer...any ideas?

Since you have already hi-jacked the thread. I would not recommend jacking from the harmonic balancer. The best way is to make yourself a yoke that will clear the pan and lift the engine from the block/pan rail.

As noted by edzolz, avoid putting any kind of bending load (jacking) on the nose of your crankshaft unless you're looking for an interesting way to kill it. If you're taking the motor mount bolts out, it only makes sense to drop the downpipes anyway. You do not have to remove the manifolds.
