Manually open top on 71 cutlass
Is it possible to manually open the top on a 71 cutlass convertible?

This question was asked a while back and the technically correct answer is yes, it is possible but it would require the top cylinder attachment bolts to be removed.

Without removing the cylinder attachment point, the answer is no. The hydraulic fluid prevents the cylinders from moving.

As Kenneth indicated you must disconnect the top lift cylinder piston rods from the top linkage & then you can manually raise & lower the top.
