Lights

Im haveing a problem with the reverse lights have power switch good bulbs is good but wont light up when i hook the lights up the sockets have power and the bumper gains power so im kinda lost with the test light lights up when i touch the bumper when i have the lights hooked up HELP

Sounds like the lights are not grounded to the bumper.

The test light is getting its ground off the bumper. Check what Glenn said - trace back the ground wire from the loom and check it. Chances are there's corrosion that's causing the problem. Remove the ground, clean it and the mating surfaces. Reattach and test for operation. If it's good, cover the ground with something like copper coat or any good rust inhibitor.

If your getting 12v on the bumper, the bumper is not grounded to the frame.

Eric, I don't understand your comment. The way I read it is that if he touched a test light to the bumper, it lite up. Maybe I am not understanding it correctly. It is going to be close to impossible for the bumper not to be grounded to the frame.

Thank you all for the help im not sure if i stated its a 65 cutlass .
all the wires are good the light buckets are the ground and all cleaned with good contact iv tried what i think is everything just at a loss at this time
