Hi, was the j-hook that holds the spare tire down a different length for the specialty wheel (SSI, SSII and SSIII) compared to just a regular rim? If so, what is the proper length for it?

There were different Jhook lengths. It dependedon the size of the tire, if the spare had a top, etc. What year/model?

 

1971 Cutlass Supreme SSIII (colored same as body color). I was looking and saw different thread lengths and overall lengths so I was not sure which one I needed. Plus I have a small dark colored nut to secure it down unlike the wing nut.

 

The wing nut was used on steel wheels and the lug nut that you have was used on the SS wheels.
