Intake bolts wont stay seated

Working on Alice, and seems every morning I check to make sure that the bolts on my edelbrock intake I installed are staying where they should, seems that at least two of them are always loose.

I have been torquing them to 20fp and not sure how to keep them in place. any ideas?

I found that when using composition intake gaskets with the aluminum intake manifold that I had to retorque the intake bolts every week or so for a couple months until they quit loosening up on me. I think the thermal expansion of the aluminum intake crushes the gasket some, then when the intake cools the bolts are slightly loose. As I said, this eventually stopped after many retorque cycles. Just keep checking them and retorquing as necessary.

Same as Fun71.....I had to re-torque quite a few times. Mine were front, both sides. The ones in the middle just a tad.The rear bolts stayed in spec.I torque em to 35fp.Eddy performer manifold.

I think intake torque is more than 20 lbs.

35 ft lbs to be exact. Be sure the bolts are clean and dipped in engine oil first.

Re-torquing Edelbrock Intake Manifold

I also recently put new gaskets in and yes, the bolts will have to be re-torqued because I already have oil leaks, especially on the back side. I also removed the valve covers to paint them and the bolts are all loose too with some leaking as well. So I will have to re-torque everything. However, for the Performers intake, the instructions indicate 25 pounds of torque, not 20 or 35. For the intake leaks I will finger press more silicon by the leaking areas and then re-torque.
