how to adjust rockers and push rods on a 350?

how to adjust rockers and push rods on a 350?

so do i just tighten the bolt down? rockers dont seem to be adjustable .

They are not adjustable. If making noise they are likely worn. They need to be replaced in sets of 2.

I thought shimming could be done for adjustment if needed.

If the parts are worn and ticking, it's hard to install a negative thickness shim.

I probably should have been more specific. I was just saying if adjustments needed to be done couldn't it be shimmed. I did not say that to aid the issue. If they are worn replace them. Now for instance say you rebuild the engine and everything is good and you have new rockers. They could be adjusted by shimming if needed right ?That's all I was getting at.

And again, maybe yes, maybe no. Shimming can only adjust in one direction - away from the head. If you need to go the other way (if you have a reduced base circle cam, for example), you cannot get a negative thickness shim.

If you've 'ticking' after replacing rockers and stands, If the pushrods are good, you may have a broken valve spring, and/or cam going flat, taking out the lifters as well.
Even adjustable aftermarket rocker arms won't help that!
